Beyond our wide ranch of services is our philosophy of quality resident centered care for each and every resident that chooses to stay at our facility. At the Hampton Health Care Center it is our goal to help you feel at home. Our facility is beautifully decorated to provide a safe, relaxing and home like atmosphere. We have private and semi private rooms available, in calming and cool colors that can be decorated and personalized with each individual’s treasures. A resident may put up family pictures, bring their own television, favorite chair, doll collection, favorite blanket and anything else that can make their room more like home. Each wing of the Care Center has a living room where residents and their family’s can relax and visit. These include a big screen TV, comfy chairs and a relaxing atmosphere.
On the East side of the facility is a beautiful, secure, shaded courtyard that residents can enjoy 3 seasons of the year. The area has benches to relax on, flowers to enjoy, vegetables to pick and sidewalks for a stroll. It has a huge cotton wood tree that houses many types of birds and squirrels. Residents see deer, raccoon and the occasional cat out their windows. New to the facility this year are 4 tame white rabbits. They are in our inner courtyard and our residents love to watch them through their windows.

We pride ourselves on our home made and delicious meals. We have a licensed dietician that works with our Dietary Supervisor, making sure that every meal we serve is well balanced, tasty and meets all the requirements needed to maintain our residents health and proper nutritional needs. Our meals are resident choice select menus meaning each resident gets a choice on what they would like to eat from a select menu. As our Dietary Supervisors states, “No reasonable choice is refused.” Chicken, pork and beef, all types of vegetables, lettuce salads, Jell-O, Waldorf salad, potato salad, 3 bean salad, soups of all kinds, Lasagna, beef and noodles, potatoes that are mashed, scalloped, French fried and baked, pie, brownies, ice-cream, custard and pudding are a sample of the desserts, salads, main courses and vegetables we offer. In the summer months we have a cookout for our residents and staff, one Friday each month. This is a favorite with all our residents. Our Dietary Dept. serves hotdogs and hamburgers that are cooked on a grill, potato salad, baked beans, macaroni salad, Jell-o, ice-cream and all the condiments that one has at a picnic. It is a fun and delicious meal! Our Care Center also has a popcorn machine in the dining room that is always filled with hot delicious popcorn. This is available to our Residents any time of the day.
History of the Hampton Health Care Center-In 1963, George M. Manoylovish, decided to improve the service of long term care so he opened the Hampton Care Center. A 50-bed facility, with many features that were later incorporated into the minimum building standards with the Federal Housing Administration and Iowa Dept. of Health Construction regulations. Because of growing needs, in 1966, a 20-bed addition was added onto the HHCC and in 1973 a second addition of 27 beds was needed, making the HHCC a 97-bed unit. In June of 1989, 11 beds were converted to use as a dedicated Alzheimer’s unit and in Sept. of 1993 a second 8 bed Alzheimer’s unit was opened, making the Hampton Health Care Center unique by providing separate men’s and women’s Alzheimer units.
After 43 years the Hampton Health Care Center continues to maintain the highest standards of Excellence in quality care and service to every resident. We believe that the Health, Safety and comfort of all residents is our paramount concern. Emotional Support is just as important as physical care in the treatment of illness. We feel every resident has a rehabilitation potential and that every resident deserves to grow old with dignity and respect. |
